We took our 4 children to the ocean for the first time this March, I was a helicopter mom the entire time.. my husband kept telling em to just go chill in a beach chair and read a book. There was absolutely no way I could, I will always be a helicopter mom to make sure my babies are safe in open water!

Here on the west coast we just lost a 5 year old in Laguna beach. Coast guard had called off search but lifeguards kept it up and found her. Rip Amada Mia

Life guards are truly hero’s. My dad was boogie boarding in Monmouth Beach 2 years ago and on his last wave was tossed and broke his neck. My brother had to pull him out himself and find a life guard to help. Luckily ones were running down the beach right after my brother got him out. You never think it will happen to you until it does.

People dont understand how dangerous the NJ currents are. I've grown up at Jersey shore and had a few scary moments. Always use caution.

My dad was search rescue and recovery as a diver and to put that responsibility on someone so young is a lot - take care of yourself ❤️

Competitive Swimmer of 15 years and also a lifeguard and I was in the ocean and got stuck in a rip current and it was terrifying. I knew how to get myself out but I rarely go into the ocean now.
