Back when people still thought it was connected to Undertale, back when they thought every chapter would be tabletop themed as well, back when people thought Kris was Chara or ralsei was asriel, back when people thought jevil was going to stay important forever, back when it just had this FEELING to it. There was no talk of dark worlds, or the knight, or dead, nobody even KNEW dess even EXISTED. People simply thought it was tied to, a sequel to, or a prequel to Undertale, that it used its logic, and had its lore. Hell, they even made deltarune AU’s in the beginning. It just had this FEELING to it. It was a whole different game.

deltarune is great but it wont ever fit the vibe of the first chapter unfortunately. but it makes sense since all the dark worlds are different.

When chapter 1 came out, deltarune had completely different vibe. The vibe of mysterious, the thoughts like "This is different game or undertale 2?" and i was a naive kid with calm life (And most of you all too, i gues). Btw this chapter feels more serious than next with these "Moments for community memes". Interesting, what we've got if deltarune saved it's atmosphere from first chapter?
