I just went back to read from the beginning of that chapter and I couldn’t believe Jesus was talking about the Pharisees. 🥺 Our main problem is, most times when we read the read the Bible, we read with the understanding given us in church or from Sunday School. We don’t read to understand in context because there’s a veil of understanding already on our minds. This is sad.🥺🥺🥺

Ransford K. Awusanya :
This is a wrong interpretation. 1. The translation of “thief” is not referring those he’s naming. It’s “kleptes”, which is a ‘stealer’. 2. For proper context, the preceding verses (John 10:7-9) points to personalities claiming to have salvific solutions to man’s problem of sin. Satan and any personality that claims Mesianic abilities is a “kleptes”, a “thief”. Don’t forget that Jesus went on the point to himself as the Mesiah/Saviour by saying “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly” in the same vs 10 of John chapter 10. So, to blatantly say that such word, “thief” refers to pastors, prophets or gospel ministers is wrong.

He’s actually wrong… Jesus never said anything about he leaving in the beginning of John 10… and the word thieve in Greek is kleptes which is the thief in Greek from the work klepto… it wasn’t referring to leaders…..

James Agbozo :
He’s just confusing himself. When man is Godless the devil has authority over them . So when the bible says devil it’s describing the inherent evil in them . So a pastor or leader without the spirit of God is a devil. Jesus called the Pharisees as sons of snakes , he also said the devil was their father in Matthew 23:33 and John 8:44 respectively.

Someone getting it at last. I have been trying to explain this for the past 12years. The thief is not even just the pastors or church leaders because there wasn’t such during Jesus days. The thief is also the law and the prophet and that is deep

You don't know the Greek language, go and study it again. The Greek meaning also means the original biblical meaning. Go & check and don't quote from what u heard from people
