I had to stop watching TC when I noticed how often someone would ask for a lawyer and my brain would go, "oooh that's suspicious, they must've done it". Anything that makes people subconsciously equate the right to an attorney with guilt is not something we need to be engaging with.

I agree with this take and I tried to make a leftist true crime podcast during covid times to give the cool people a place to look at true crime through a lens that resonated and it was really fun but I have to like… work… and it turns out a research based podcast is really time consuming

this is so interesting. people are always shocked to find out that I don't like true crime, bc apparently I seem like that type based on my aesthetics and interests. This helped me put words to the reasons I don't enjoy it.
