Media literacy is an issue. I know so many people who love Mamdani, Bernie, and AOC but voted for Becerra. I think the establishment dem machine is just too powerful when you have a weak candidate like Steyer. I voted for Steyer but the billionaire issue stopped me from shouting Steyer’s name from rooftops.

If a billionaire really wants to help citizens rather than a grandive themselves, Maybe start a little smaller, How about show what you can do as state senator for 4 years.

I would vote for Katie Porter, I would NEVER vote for Steyer. I don't trust a billionaire.

i hate how they blame katie porter for everything, she has a little temper and suddenly she’s the worst choice for democrats. However for Platner, they want to unite behind him despite holding him accountable to his own past actions. You guys love to throw out the progressive candidates and blame them for your loss. Can’t believe we got to this point where we blame Katie Porter 🤦🏽♂️

Could also allocate Bianco’s votes to Hilton and you’d end up with Hilton and Becerra in the general anyways

The biggest problem with Tom Steyer is by definition he’s an oxymoron. One of the foundational pillars of progressivism is that billionaires should not exist. If you have that pillar, and you want to claim yourself as progressive, you cannot therefore be a billionaire. Regardless of what one says actions speak louder than words.

Tbh the last thing the left needs is another progressive woman to dog on for the next 3 election cycles, but regardless of if she impacted the results, Katie Porter is unfortunately going to be exactly that for the foreseeable future.

If Porter dropped out and endorsed when it became clear that they were not going to make it to the runoff, Steyer could have won, full stop. He’s going to miss the runoff by one or two points, but Porter cared more about her ego

I certainly was hoping Steyer would win, but I voted for Porter who was BY FAR the best candidate. For years neolibs told us to vote for the electable candidate as if they could see the future. So I did what I wish everyone would do which is just vote for who YOU think is the best candidate. The number of would be Bernie voters who didn’t vote for him because they thought he wasn’t electable 😭😭

The Katie Porter thing more people should be talking about isn’t that her support pulled from Steyer, it’s the fact that her support DIDN’T pull from Becerra’s. Because all of the people who couldn’t support a billionaire - which I fully understand - had they been ideologically consistent would have supported Porter, the candidate not taking billionaire money, instead of Becerra, who took EVERY billionaire’s money. It will never make sense to me.

I’m just so pissed about the virtue signalling from becerra Stans. It was a progressive billionaire vs a centrist owned by billionaires and they chose the latter because they “can’t get behind a billionaire”.

Steyer definitely could have run a better campaign, but I really will not be surprised if in the near future we see more coming out about who was behind Becerra’s rise. He absolutely did not have this level of support pre-Swalwell dropping out, felt very reminiscent of 2024 Kamala in the worst way

that's because steyer is a republican dressed as a "progressive". his political run is self-serving.

regardless of Steyer, Porter should have dropped out--the left needs to be hard-nosed and strategic in elections. The point is for the left to consolidate before the center. So yes, Warren should have tried to consolidate before Bloomberg & Biden could, ,and she could have done it much earlier. She divided the vote and reduced Bernie's chance of winning. A united left can beat a fractured moderate, you are insisting a united left beat a united center, which would be nice, but isn't the only way
