Opened in 2017 in downtown Atlanta, the venue is normally home to the NFL’s Falcons and MLS’s Atlanta United, but for FIFA it has been adapted for elite international football. The biggest change is the playing surface: natural grass has replaced the usual artificial turf, with specialists monitoring durability inside the retractable-roof arena.
