I don’t think Beau has to die. They could show Beau in the hospital with an uncertain outcome, and Dean spiraling because he doesn’t know if Beau will survive. That would still give Dean a strong emotional trigger without permanently killing Beau. Another possibility is that the author’s original plan wasn’t to kill Beau but for Dean to lose someone. If the story needs Dean to experience a major loss, it could even be a family member instead of Beau.

With as different as the show was from the first book, I feel like they could throw in some other tragedy we can’t even imagine for his character arc. I do think they’ll probably go with the book for that one though, especially given the costumes.

With how much overlap there is between Tucker and Deans books with Beau dying when Sabrina is pregnant… I feel like they will try and kill Beau in Season 3 - so that they can also have grace going off to paris for the gap between seasons 2 & 3 also for Logan’s timeline

Never read their book but I hope they don’t do that thing where grieving automatically means shutting out a loved one I hope it actually pushes him closer to Ally.
