For both of my children, I kissed them and told them “ you’ve got this” when I dropped them off at college out of state. It was a solid experience for them, and even to this day, they have no idea how much my heart broke. It’s what you do as a parent. Never been more proud of them

I watched my Mom cry every time she put me on the train to go back to college. I visited for 1 weekend every month. She was so proud of me. But I get it now. I hope I can be this strong when my kids are older.

I told my 3 young girls growing up when they graduated HS they had to leave for two college semesters. After that they could move back home and go to college and live with us. The door is always open. All 3 left at 17. None came home. Youngest is still in college. Playing soccer for Univ of Texas. She just left to go backpack across Europe for 10 days.

I've always told my sons that when they were little and I saw they were in trouble I could pick them up. Later as they grew, I could only nudge them. Eventually I could only tell them.

My daughter didn’t want to leave, but I advised her to leave from Houston to New York. She’s studying fashion. I told her the worst that can happen is she doesn’t like it and she comes back home. I’ll miss her every single day, but this is the best choice for her to succeed.

Love this! We worked hard to be good parents, invest in our kids and show them strong work and life ethics. They live their lives, but we talk or text throughout the week. We do an annual family vacation. Love them so much and they feel the same way!
