you can't get metallic colors with this method. it works fine if you want a basic color. the best way to do it imo is to make a carbon vinyl group, apply it over the area that you want carbon, then use mask shapes to remove the unneeded sections

same for chrome or super reflective decals. paint the car the color you want the decals. place the outline of the decal you want. and fill in the spots with whatever color you want the car to be.
