How did you break it, though? Seems like an odd spot for a stick of that length to break at, so close near the tip.

I'd use a fine hemp twine to wrap the break. it would not only add a bit of strength but it would also act as a clamp while the glue dried

Could also probably use glue and some wood shavings/ wood dust to fill in really small gaps.

wrap a small sliver of copper or something alike just at the top of your linseed paint

Some gold leaf trim would look fabulous to accent the paint and make it look a little bit more intentional and cohesive. don't know if you do that sort of thing tho

Idk what it’s used for but I say fit a brass sleeve over the wound it would also add a little flair to it
