People don’t get divorced to be single. We want the married life and it’s DEVASTATING and can be so destabilizing when it ends and you have to go back to a life you fought so hard to not have. Big hug girl. I’m moving to OC for similar reasons and hope to meet! 🙋🏼♀️

Literally had a male coworker tell me how he was in a relationship for a few years but she left him and he was really sad and he just focused on work and I should hyperfixate on working. Excuse me sir my husband woke up randomly one morning and told me he didn’t love me after being together for seven years. He packed up and left literally a few days later.

I felt like my head was underwater for a literal year after my engagement ended. And then one day i vividly remember waking up and truly feeling like myself again! Grief really puts you in a haze!

I filed for divorce in 2021 after more than 7 years together and it took me until 2025 to fully heal especially because just like you my ex was my first everything. It’s hard and grief is normal.

Divorce is harder than death, so many people would disagree with this, but when you’re grieving, someone who intentionally hurt you, it’s another level of pain. However, I will say in time it does get better, and you will grow from it in ways you couldn’t imagine.

These moments will make you realize what a solo journey life is. I went through a divorce while my father was dying of terminal cancer. I rarely spoke of it because it was very clear no one understood and leaned in to it just being ok. It was hard.
