Live bands typically play the same exact set every night of a single tour. Why does that have to be different for edm artists?? Why do they have to play a different set each time they play? They don’t.

They say this about every artist. The reality is you shouldn’t be seeing the same artists THAT often… ppl are going to big name festivals with heavily repeated headliners / lineups because that’s who is popular. If you go to several big names fests in a year… you’re gonna see the same sets. Duh! It’s a production.

Personally, I love me a "familiar" set because I can sing along & lowkey know the drops & it makes it so much more fun PLUS those new mixes being added that makes you go OHHMYGAHAHHH hahah anyways. ILY QUEEN😩💜

As a much smaller artist that has played a handful of big (big to me) and small shows I’m 100% on the same page of making new sets for meaningful shows and evolving them from there until the next big show. What’s I’m most curious about for artists in a similar spot as you is how do you balance playing both YOUR classics everyone wants to hear along with your new/unreleased music? Right now personally it’s easy since I only have 4-6 songs of my own I think are worthy of playing I’ll always play them but I’d imagine that’s a struggle after making dozens and dozens of orginals both well known to the public and not

There’s always this weird expectation for DJ’s to constantly change it up and I don’t get it. No other music scene is like that. If you’re seeing someone multiple times over a shorter period of time, yeah there’s gonna be some crossover. It would be insane if people had that mentality with bands, it shouldn’t be that different for DJ’s

Sometimes us as consumers just need to say wasn’t my cup of tea and move on. Absolutely love many sets. There’s been artist I’ve enjoyed their night show but didn’t enjoy their fest sets. Vice versa. Regardless music is an art and if you can do it at this level you’re talented 🫶🏾❤️

Appreciate the explanation 🥰 I do see a lot of people complain about a show if the crowd was not great. Christian played in Boise last week and there was a group of guys shoving people out of their way to get to the front. For some reason ppl want to blame CrankDat for those people’s actions but it’s not his fault those people were rude.
