My boyfriend used to sleep with the one sq ft left of his baby blanket . He’d put it over his eyes , helped with the light as well ofc, and he loved that thing. He’d keep it under the pillows - I think for a while he didn’t know that I noticed it. I never brought it up. Eventually when I moved in, I’d make the bed and fold it neatly under his pillowcase so he knows it was cared for while he was gone and not just disregarded or judged for it
