The internet has ruined this place. It used to be so peaceful and beautiful, and now it’s crowded and full of litter.

I grew up in Ventura county and grew up hiking here regularly. I’ve seen the landscape change through the decades and there was even a time where few locals found a hidden short cut through the school. Parking was so easy, only two lots on the outside and not the insanity I see today while driving up that mountain. Please be respectful of this place. It’s our home. I’ve only taken my kids here once because of how much traffic there is and how much the landscape has changed. We can’t stop the world growing and evolving, but we can be respectful and mindful while enjoying everything nature has to offer.

Don’t let theses videos fool you, these hikes are no easy. Beautiful and worth it but the terrain is rocky with lots of uphill and climbing! And very hot during summer

I did this hike at summer camp 8 years ago and so many kids got lost. We had a blast though. It was one of the best days of my life. Everyone was safe too dw
