There’s also so many Protestants for whom prayer is almost identical to Catholic prayer. For instance, Anglican Evensong is sung vespers. Anglican Compline is almost identical as Catholic Compline, etc etc etc. I’d imagine participating in that would be much different than participating in a mega church prayer service that Catholics turn from the Pope. “Participating in prayer together” isn’t a black and white thing, not all Protestant churches are created equally in their relationship to the Holy See.

Genuine question, as of right now I'm wanting to become Catholic but I'm young and my parents won't let me go to a catholic church because they are Baptist Protestant and disagree with the Catholic Church fully and call them idol worshippers, I'm honestly pretty scared because I haven't been baptised or taken the eucharist and only taken bread that "symbolises Christ" instead of actually being Christ. So when I pray does it work the same way, are they like not heard or something?
