Supplements aren't regulated so you might get tumeric but you are probably getting yellow dyed saw dust.

A doctor won’t go to supplements as they are not regulated

I don’t want a natural remedy because none of them help. Write me a prescription. Thank you

My doctors routinely recommend over the counter stuff, I assume she’s not going to the doctor for advice because if taking magnesium helps I’d expect that to be recommended. She’s likely doing research online and trying to take things that don’t need a prescription and feeling like she didn’t need a doctor because she found the solution.

My BOARD CERTIFIED NEUROLOGIST with a speciality in headache/'migraine. He asks me about if I'm taking magnesium and ginger because those were his very first recommendations. There's an anecdote for every example

I think going to a DO vs MD also makes a difference. DO tend to approach more holistically in my opinion.

Your good doctor would draw labs… inspect your legs and get imaging, wait for results. And refer you to specialist, and prescribe comfort measures in the waiting period… is that wrong?

my doc isn't perfect, but the first thing he did on a question similar to this was run a blood panel for electrolytes first

Why is the assumption that doctors aren’t talking about this? My doctors go to is always natural first.

Shared Decision Making. That is the basis of most clinical practice. But no one actually believes providers do that
