The living room or “front room” comes to mind also. A lot of our living rooms weren’t lived in. Just there for display.

I feel like this is why the backrooms has never freaked me out as a concept. Because it wasnt MY BACKROOMS. Like that makes so much sense to me 😭

i feel like the backrooms should be kept what it is, a null space just behind reality itself. i think what you guys think of are liminal spaces. the backrooms is supposed to lack personality. that is what makes it frightening. i think liminal spaces should be explored more when it comes to this idea, but i do like it a lot

Always wanted to make a game about the backrooms but like from a Colombian-Cuban diaspora perspective. Cuz for me I experienced both countries very liminally as I would be in them for only short stretches of time as a child and they kinda marked the transition between school years as we would go there in the summer and winter breaks. And yeah a lot of what i perceive as “liminal” to the rest of my family is just their home. Idk

I think that the liminal spaces work in the same way quantum physics does, meaning your perception directly impacts what you are able to observe

They made his character focus more on his failures more so then who he was and I was kind of bummed by it because there was so much to work with.

Has there been discussions on Backrooms being similar to the concept of the underground Labyrinth from the Percy Jackson books and by extension, Greek mythology? that was where my mind immediately went watching the movie

I’d LOVE to see them explore more about how culture and world events have shaped the backrooms in a sequel that would be so cool 😭
