FMLA doesn’t protect your management’s perception of you. If you’re a common case for being out for long windows, the realization is they don’t need you if the business can keep moving. I know it’s protected time but in the long run people talk and form opinions.

Know the difference between FMLA (not paid just an agreement not to fried you during the leave of time. PFL is paid and only last 8 weeks. FMLA isn’t PFL

Mine is not paid. I have to use all my vacation and pto first for it to be paid after that it is unpaid. I am going to have surgery that I will be out for a min of 4 weeks snd it wont be paid

Very true I received it for anxiety 6 weeks paid leave and moving forward I get mental health days every month 3 days off…. Take care of yourself people ❤️

I was pissed when I found this out and had to work everyday while my mom was on her death bed my supervisors made it so hard on me made me think I was gonna lose my job if I took time off. I wish I knew this sooner I regret everyday not being there for my mom in her final moments 💔

my job tried to tell me i couldn't take 3 months off to help my wife around the house and take care of our son while she was recovering from her bone cancer surgery because the doctor said she'd be on bed rest for 4 weeks and then wouldn't be able to life our sons till she got approved all together it took 7 months and FMLA gave it to me and my work was pissed because they said i don't need that time off because it didn't happen to me

I live in CA. I got FMLA for a mental breakdown, had my doctor help me in the past, and applied for Unemployment and received money while not working. You can get help from any healthcare provider, including an emergency healthcare provider, for a mental health issues or to take time off work.

I get 4 FMLA days a month because of my bipolar disorder. I am so blessed that my doctor signed this off for me. believe me I need those days.
