@faithfundx: For years I believed that the key to success was simple: work harder, push more, and eventually the results would come. But after studying the Bible, I realized something that changed my perspective completely: Results are not determined by effort alone. We often assume that if we work more than everyone else, we will automatically earn more, achieve more, and become more successful. That mindset works in many areas of life, especially in sports. But when it comes to finances and God’s purpose for our lives, reality is often different. Have you ever noticed that some people achieve remarkable success without struggling as much as others? Sometimes opportunities, relationships, family, or circumstances open doors that hard work alone could never create. The Bible teaches this truth clearly: “I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong… but time and chance happen to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) Take Solomon as an example. He did not spend years fighting wars to build the kingdom he inherited. His father David prepared the kingdom, secured peace, and gathered resources long before Solomon became king. Solomon’s greatest request to God was not wealth, power, or success—it was wisdom. “So give Your servant an understanding heart to govern Your people and to discern between good and evil.” (1 Kings 3:9) Because Solomon asked for wisdom, God gave him wisdom, wealth, honor, and influence beyond anyone of his time (1 Kings 3:10-13). The lesson is simple: Everything we have ultimately comes from God. Our talents, opportunities, resources, relationships, and even the doors that open before us are gifts from Him. Instead of constantly asking God for more, perhaps we should first ask Him for wisdom to steward what He has already placed in our hands. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” (James 1:5) Your calling may not be hidden from you. You may simply need the wisdom to recognize and use what God has already given you.
