i think the defense didn’t present a compelling argument that he was fearful or remorseful. it probably would’ve been better to have him testify, bc the facts of the case alone don’t offer that perspective

Why do we act like a jury has to deliberate for days before they reach a verdict? I was on a jury once and within the first 45 minutes of presenting evidence It was very clear that the defendant was guilty. And over the course of the next four days, it became even more and more evident they were guilty. We came to a guilty verdict five minutes after being sent to deliberate. We sat around for an hour making sure we were all on the same page as to why the individual is guilty and we had a verdict. Sometimes the prosecution just does a really good job of presenting the case and the jury knows where they stand going into deliberations.
