@real_playthroughs: The new God of War: Laufey gameplay trailer was officially revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play showcase in June 2026, and after hearing rumours for so long that the next God of War game might focus on Faye, it looks like those rumours were true. There were even rumours at one point that we might play as Atreus next, but it definitely seems like Santa Monica Studio decided to explore Faye’s story first. I’ve seen some mixed reactions online, but honestly the gameplay in this trailer actually looks really good to me. The combat, visuals, world design, and cinematic feel still look very much like God of War, just from a different perspective. Personally, I don’t mind getting a game focused on another character while they work on Kratos’ next major chapter. Especially considering they’re also working on the God of War I-III remasters, this honestly feels like a pretty solid filler game before the next big Kratos story. What do you guys think?
