You are greatly misinformed, the ACS asked a group of black americans if they wanted go to liberia they absolutely did not deport them. A simple Google search will show this.

I can't speak for other ethnic groups, but Black Americans have some of the most complex backgrounds bc too many of us romanticize our history, omit parts or just outright dont know. In terms of Liberia, it was a catch 22 bc we became the colonizers and fought a war with native Liberians. Today its divided into sections with distinct ethnic groups, including Americo Liberians (black Americans)

The slaves that went to Liberia were purposely selected because they were sons and daughters of slave owners meaning they would be loyal to America’s interest, it wasn’t deportation…Deportation became an idea after the emancipation proclamation where Lincoln proposed sending blacks to Central America and Caribbean
