This did not end the way I thought it would. Firstly, I want to say that in NO way at all is this meant to be a video to bash this tourniquet. I’m very grateful that we were sent these tourniquets directly from @snakestaff_systems and asked to give an honest review. I think they are an incredible company doing amazing things and creating a tourniquet design that will change the game! As with all new designs, there’s kinks to be worked out! Everything about these tourniquets is fantastic except one crucial element that we witnessed not only in the ETQ gen2 but also the ETQ gen 2 wide. The clip where the windlass locks in after it is turned seemed to fold on itself to the point it wouldn’t allow the windlass to clip in underneath the folding hinge each time. And this happened with BOTH tourniquets. After making this video @nofreerides_ and I spent hours researching to see if others had the same results. We found that many other trusted creators and reviewers were being either very gentle, or tightening “just enough” to occlude blood flow. However in a real world situation, you go till it’s TIGHT. With adrenaline flowing, (even possibly with only one hand) and the need to stop blood fast, you don’t always get a perfect test scenario every time. So we crank down hard and what we’ve not only tested other tourniquets to, but what we would in a real scenario. With that said, I am ALWAYS looking for new and effective options to feature and promote to the Traumoto community! At this very moment, I can’t with 100% confidence recommend this tourniquet just yet. But man it’s so close. If that clip becomes just a bit stronger or redesigned, I think @snakestaff_systems has a winner! Again I HEAVILY debated even posting this. But I feel it’s my duty to leave my honest review and feedback. I have nothing against the amazing company that @snakestaff_systems is becoming, and don’t let this deter you from supporting their efforts in saving lives! What do you think about this tourniquet? #traumoto #tourniquet #snakestaffsystems #ems #motorcyclesafety
