I feel like debut or die isn’t really seen as horror since it feels more realistic but it showcases the reality of the idol industry which is horrific in itself. where as get dropped in a ghost story literally has horror in the title but both are peakkkk

in my opinion. The novels that written by Baek Deoksoo both are Horror. Both DOD and GSGW wrapped into fantasical elements (like system and cosmic horror), but if you analyst it, Baek Deoksoo trying to tell how horror of entertainment industry or work field can be in both story. It's interesting how Moondae actually can clear all his mission and free from the "death end" if only entertainment industry isn't toxic and sadly that "death end" isn't something that only able to happen in fiction or even new in that field.. And Soleum workplace is very toxic and very much corrupt also likely doesn't even care about the their employees safety as long as they gain benefits (people would do anything to get that glory). I personally love how the author make Moondae and Soleum look composed outside but we all could feel the overwhelming feelings of them, kinda sad since that's somehow what we "should" do in social banter. (Btw i haven't finish GSGW novel and i only read DOD manhwa, but i'm fine with spoilers, just lack of information)

baek deoksoo always manages to write the greatest twists within stories that leave readers horrified. i don’t think i’ve ever read any story that’s managed to surprise me in the way baek deoksoo’s works do
