Religion… until you don’t need it is that the pattern? I used to say poor countries are religious look at Sweden, Denmark, and Japan. The countries most successful economically and in well-being are not very religious. As I looked into these countries deeper, I realized they were actually built on religious ideas to begin with. Those ideas allowed them to conquer and gain resources. Much of their wars were tied to religion, and the structures that gave them social safety nets, belonging, and cohesion were also rooted in religion. They built social trust and culture through religion. Once these countries gained resources and overall economic well-being, they began to outgrow God. Not believing in God is a privilege. Now take a look at Saudi Arabia they’ve gained stability and material resources, and are slowly shifting away from religion and the narratives that once gave them power and stability. They even created Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. Religious scholars have less influence Saudi created the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), focusing on concerts, festivals, and events Many religious restrictions were reduced to allow these events * Women now have more freedom in what they wear, whereas before they were expected to wear a black abaya Vision 2030 is, in many ways, about reshaping the country beyond its previous religious framework. Saudi Arabia showing tha they graduated from God.. They’re now leaving religion.. #religion #muslimtiktok #somalidiaspora #somalitiktok #saudiarabia🇸🇦
