@artmuseumsoftheworld: One of my first semi viral videos is making a comeback and it’s an urban myth from the city I studied in: Lucerne! 🦁 It’s a lion sculpture from the 1820s that was comissioned in order to commemorate the Swiss guards who lost their lives in some battle. The artist / sculptor who made the impressive fallen lion (all by hand obv) wasn’t paid enough or on time, so out of spite rumor has it that the carved the shape of a pig around his masterpiece.
