A songwriter will write lyrics for their own reasons singular or plural reasons. When the artist performs this in concert, they see the concert attendees/fans singing these same lyrics back to them. Can you imagine what must have been going through his mind when 20,00-90,000 fans have their own reason(s) for the heartfelt lyrics to have connected with them as well and singing them back to him? I’ve always thought about this when listening to music and connecting to lyrics in a personal level. Mind blowing 🤯

The visual representation of him trapped in his mind is exactly how I felt trapped in my mind during depression. Amygdala hits me very hard, visuals and lyrics, every single time. And I cry. But it has also helped me a lot. You are right: I see him, I recognise him. My traumas. His traumas.
