Everyone thinks I'm okay, but I'm exhausted. I changed, I matured, I realized my past mistakes, but nobody notices. People still look at me differently. I want to tell them how much it hurts, but I can't.
My parents always compared me to others, especially when it came to academics. I tried my best just to make them proud, but somehow it was never enough. They always saw my brother as the "perfect child," while I felt like the "useless daughter." Whenever I tried to explain myself, they'd get angry and say, "How dare you talk back to me? Ungrateful brat."
School became my safe place. Not because I loved every class or assignment, but because it was one of the few places where I could forget everything for a while. The noise of the hallways was better than the silence at home. Even when I sat alone, I felt less lonely than I did in my own house.
I learned how to smile when people asked if I was okay. I learned how to laugh at jokes, submit my work on time, and act like everything was normal. Nobody noticed how tired I was. Nobody noticed how much I was carrying.
