It is reported that he said: “If a mule were to stumble on the road in Iraq, I fear Allah would ask me why I did not make the road smooth for it.” His rule became a model of justice, accountability, and compassion. Under his leadership, people felt secure because they knew that truth would prevail regardless of status or wealth. The strength of Umar (RA) was not merely physical, it was the strength of Iman, Taqwa, justice, and complete submission to Allah. This was the strength that made Shaytan flee and earned him a place among the greatest companions of the Prophet ﷺ.
