If they keep repeating the same relationship pattern with different faces… Let them. Your job is not to convince someone that you’re the healthy choice. Your job is not to prove your worth. Your job is not to rescue someone from lessons they haven’t learned yet. One of the hardest parts of healing is accepting that people choose based on their level of awareness, their wounds, and what feels familiar to them. And sometimes what feels familiar isn’t healthy. When you’re dysregulated, rejection feels like evidence that you’re not enough. When you’re regulated, you realise their choice is information about them, not a verdict about you. Let them choose their type. And you choose yourself. Because the right relationship won’t require you to compete with someone’s patterns.
