The perfect descriotion of manipulation IRL. The Big Lie: The most brutal manipulation is the "final exam." They convince Ender that he is just playing a high-stakes computer simulation, knowing that if he knew it was a real war with real lives at stake, his empathy would prevent him from fighting.

watch the movie. fairly good, but set up for a sequel but never got one. SPOILER!! . . These kids are trainees, they are some of the brightest and most creative people humanity has, and they are being trained in military stratergy since earth was visited by the aliens (not attacked i dont think by this alien species, to find a new home, humanity didnt know that, they thought they were gonna invade). after several "houses/groups/clans" competed against eachother to find who was the best, this group came out on top, and did SEVERAL of these "training simulations" in order at a later date attack the aliens first before "they would attack earth". what the kids didnt know was that all of the simulations were real, and ender saw them hesitate in attacking, but he thought it was a simulation so he went for it, and then "broke down" cause he exterminated and entire civilization.
