I have no problem with police officers making good money—we need them, and they put themselves on the line every day. But seeing city managers and other officials making huge salaries while the city still has major problems doesn’t make sense to me. Personally, I think the highest-paid city officials should be capped around $150k–$200k. Most City Hall positions should start around $40k, with upper-level employees earning somewhere between $75k and $90k based on their role and responsibilities.

The vast majority of the municipality employees in Worcester are likely making between 30-65k and these top officials are walking away with these insane salaries. They should be better distributed

When I was a kid my school in Worcester didn’t have a gym, real cafeteria, and played on a literal abandoned parking lot for a playground at recess, not even dirt. They couldn’t get enough money to tear it up and give kids at least grass to play on

Did I miss you mention that the city collects 10% of the detail money that the police officer makes? So if the officer works a separate job and makes 50k then the city collects an extra 5k from that officers labor. Maybe I missed it when you explained that part? 🤔

I just saw a job posting for a parks and cemetery gatekeeper position. $15 dollars an hour. How the F is the city of Worcester going to have key holding position responsible for opening and closing several locations and pay them less than a fast food worker.

THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE OVERTIME AND DETAILS! What people don’t see is to make that much, alot of them are working 70-90 hour weeks regardless of if it’s taxpayer money or not, it’s not a bonus or gift, it’s from HOURS with a contractor or vendor. They sign the slip verifying how many hours are worked NOT THE COP
