Pitted scars develop when acne damages the deeper structures of the skin, leading to: • Collagen loss within the dermis • Loss of structural support beneath the skin • Fibrotic scar bands that tether the skin downward While pico lasers can help improve pigmentation and stimulate some degree of collagen remodeling, they do not directly release scar tethering or significantly rebuild deeper structural support.
