I've seen this happen over the years in different ways. People reach some important milestone in life and everything falls apart. It's like they used up all their good luck/karma and now all that's left is bad. Noticed it happen the other way as well, like prisoners of war spending years being worked to the brink of death in concentration camps and then live to be 90. I guess all we can really hope for is a balanced life cause for every peak there seems to be an equally deep valley.

Thankfulness for and in everything has revolutionised my life and the sad thing is that remedy was in the bible sitting under my bed that I didn’t read as a teenager how different my life might have been if I’d bothered to try it out

Sounds like what happened to me over a 24 hr period. Paralyzed from the neck down out of the blue. Guillain-Barré. Took months to walk again. I’m glad he’s recovered from whatever illness he had.
