I made one put of some beautiful 1x12 #1 yellow pine and had plans to stain it. Wife said it was too big, so I had to rip 4.5 inches off the whole thing and then paint it

pro tip before you put the whole thing together, plug the outlets into the wall first and make sure that they actually work cuz you can't just return that one part. you got to take the whole thing apart and then return it all. and I wasn't going to take it apart. so now I just have one with only one outlet that works 🤷
