It’s such a weird argument to me, because I’m an older Gen Z person who first watched Daria in my late teens. It’s still really easy to keep in mind the time period/culture the show was set and written in. The show itself is SO clear about what it wants to say about Daria, feelings of alienation, and growing past the mindset Daria approaches other people in. It is a gradual process and deeply compassionate to Daria, but it’s blatant if you just… watch the show and pay attention.

I would just like to say that I really appreciate your breakdowns of all these shows and characters that I've loved my whole life because as someone who tends to take things as face value, my media literacy admittedly suffers for it. So I really enjoy getting to rewatch these shows through the lens of a different perspective and getting to enjoy them in a way that I didn't before because of context I didn't have the first time.
