I totally understand the pain of a grieving mother. Just like any other supporter, nakakalungkot pa ring isipin na na-cut short ang mga pangarap ni Bobet. Nakaka-excite at nakakaproud isipin na finally, a simple guy with big dreams from the province, a probinsyano, was taking his talent to one of the country's most prestigious universities. Admit it or not, opportunities like these don't come often. Kaya seeing Rene earn his spot on the team was something many of us celebrated. He became our representation, a reminder that dreams from the province can reach the biggest stages. On the other hand, some might disagree, but I also can't help but think about the pain these young players must be carrying. Yes, they may not have been together for that long, but losing a teammate, a friend, or simply someone you shared dreams and struggles with is never easy. I can only imagine the thoughts running through their minds: "Sana may nagawa ako." "Sana nakatulong ako." "Sana..." Mabigat dalhin ang mga tanong na ganyan. Self-blame is a heavy burden, and trauma leaves scars that take time to heal. Honestly, many things are still unclear. Police reports initially described it as a "pure accident," yet there are still questions that need answers. But it's also difficult to point fingers, especially for us who are only waiting for updates and were not there when everything happened. Truth deserves to come out, but so does compassion. Let's pray that everyone involved finds healing. May Bobet's family and loved ones receive the answers and justice they seek. And may these young athletes, who are grieving and carrying trauma of their own, find healing, peace, and grace as they navigate a tragedy none of them ever expected.
