I started to do things on my own at 15 years old. I was already in college. That was in the 80’s . I’m Gen X . Gen X always had to learn to do things on their own at a young age. Even at 5-7 years old I started doing things on my own with adult responsibilities. My daughter still doesn’t know what to do . She’s older and Gen Z despite me teaching her as a teenager. Always calling me to ask what to do and she’s in her 20’s.

When my kids turned 18 I no longer told them what to do, I'll give them advice all day long, but at 18 they had to start figuring it out, because I wasn't going to be there whenever they lived on their own and started their own families, I'm always a phone call away and I'll help when I can and I think I did right by my kids, they're all fully functioning adults w kids of their own now, I have 11 grandchildren and one kid that hasn't even started yet 🥰🥰

Yes, we do. We all this teenager are kind of teenager young adult whatever you wanna call it my daughter’s 23 and is getting ready to move out to a house with her boyfriend. That they purchased together. I tried to chime in on some things, but was totally ignored so. Maybe mistakes that I know they’ll make but don’t want them to make they’ll open their eyes. But I love my daughter very much.

So far, I've had 3 of my kids all go flatting at 18. Completely their choice. At 18, they can drink, vote, been driving a couple of years, can sign for a house. So yes, they are adults.
