I live by pre-tracking!!! Every morning with my coffee, I enter my day. It’s super helpful for dinners so I’m not standing in kitchen saying “wtf am I going to eat” which can spiral.

For casseroles, also consider that they aren’t that unique. Maybe just go ahead and track “Martha Mae’s Lasagna” that someone already made in your tracker. Perfect? No, better than not tracking. Build the habit, then refine it.

I love tracking ahead of time, it gives me peace when my day is planned out

Tracking isn't the goal — building the awareness so eventually you don't need to is.

I use Chat to help me calculate nutrition info for casseroles and stuff where I don’t follow any particular recipe

Me and my husband tend to eat separately most of our dinners during the week - I like to make a big batch of few thing and have them portioned in the freezer - so it’s super easy to grab and eat and track. I noticed that I tend to choose those options more because it’s the things that i like to eat, they are fast, I have them logged into my tracking app and can decide even few moments before what I’m in a mood for, they all have similar calories

I pre-log the entire week as much as I can. But I do weigh out my portion specifically and update thee app once I’m making dinner

I only track 5 days a week and no tracking on the weekends. That’s when I have the casseroles or complicated dinners. I try to eat my best but if I feel like chocolate or take out I don’t feel guilty as I keep it strict during the week.

I track the foods, see I have for example 70 cals left for the night and think aww fuck it I’m hungry and 70 cals isn’t enough to keep me full. I also get disheartened seeing I’m over my cals for the day and it spirals me

I find tracking tedious when I cook with a lot of fresh ingredients. But by now, I kind of know the amount of things I put into my dishes (I plan and pre-track as well and adjust as I go). I think it's way harder when you cook for a family. Portion sizes are often underestimated. For my friends with families this simply doesn't work. (and to brag a little, I lost 11kg since the beginning of the year 🥳)

Also, as a lifelong WW (former), you have been helping me immensely. Thank you. I’m down 5lbs in 5 weeks!
