А ещё если обыскивать лагерь банды в первых главах, можно найти старые газетные вырезки. Из них становится ясно, что Датч и раньше жестоко уб#вал законников и свидетелей, просто умело прикрывал это «философией» борьбы за свободу

Although this may have played a role in his decline, it is not the primary reason. Arthur literally says “What began happening in blackwater, began happening… years ago, a slow decline I guess.” This theory also makes his character much more simple and boring; having this huge expansive and intricate story about a man either slowly losing himself or showing his true colours, and fans just boil it down to a 10 second clip.

His urge for money after blackwater was what initially set him off as we know him, but then Hosea dying, Arthur and other members losing faith is what finished him off. The gang losing faith means that he can’t have control over people and kills people for sport to fill his void of greed
