I work in a hospital and it’s scary to see the company hire people and more people, no one in the hospital knows how to do their jobs, I’m the only one that is left from the original employees that knew how to work with anything and fix everything, everyone left, now every day I go to work I feel more overwhelmed because I’m being asked by everyone how to do their jobs since they never got trained or got trained by another new employee that was never trained or trained by another person who didnt get trained either and so on, thinking about leaving to another place at this point

Yes. It’s become “just ask” culture. But you don’t know what you don’t know.

At least in the UK, they haven't been onboarding since I got my first job. not once have I been actually taught how to do the job properly just to get on and figure it out. 🙃 not fun very confusing.

I’m pretty disgusted by how companies have treated their employees over the last 3-5 years.

That’s why they all want 7+ years of experience so they don’t have to train they want very direct experience.

I’ve been at my job for 2 years and I’m still learning. Onboarding today is wild. The managers don’t know how to do the job and your new coworkers are still figuring it out, and they’re probably doing things wrong that they don’t even know.

I am a manager and same.. I have 4 people on my team, I have been a team lead before so I know how to lead people, but I have asked to get training to become even better of course, guess.. nothing, we have the mid year reviews and I have joined the company 5 months ago I asked if someone from HR can show me, again nothing.. they expect us to know everything from the get go 💀

This is what is happening at out place. 6 people in one team less than 1 year in the job. I’ve had to move to their team and i’ve been there nearly 3 years and im meant to be an aim lmao

I begged my boss for years to make an instruction manual because I was the only person in the company who knew how to do my job. I finally quit and now no one knows how to do my job

I remember being hired and being trained SEPARATELY, IN A TRAINING ROOM....WITH AN EXPERIENCED TRAINER....FOR 6-10 WEEKS MINIMUM BEFORE BEING INTRODUCED TO MY TEAM AND INTEGRATED. by the time we'd hit the floor, we knew our job. it was just a matter of proficient going forward.

I'm in IT. Managers will send their new hires to us and try to put onboarding on us. Like they expect us to do EVERYTHING. Especially if the manager is in another state.

I keep saying “It’s not ‘No one wants to work anymore. It’s no one wants to TRAIN anymore.’” and it seriously shows.

Ai is taking over the job to train now too. I was a trainer and lost my job because they want people in the job immediately to learn under someone in the role and decided they only wanted a 30 min video instead of me going over everything during the day.

I lost 2 jobs that way. They didn’t want to train me. They just threw some material at me and said figure it out. I have experience but I wasn’t born learning y’all systems

I haven’t been onboarded for the last 4 jobs I had. Thankfully I had years of experience before but people are thrown to the wolves.

My last “onboarding” consisted of two weeks of meetings to meet other people in the org. How is that helping me do the job where you want immediate results?

my job is switching to a completely new software that none of us have any experience in and when we asked about training they told us there isn't any. we have to teach ourselves and create new SOP's without disrupting current workflow. Im using YouTube tutorials to teach myself 😅
