Shoutout to everyone surviving on zero connections and even less hope. It's easy to say "just get a job" when the path was paved for you by family and friends. But when you've been in the trenches since 19, that "path" feels like a myth. Watching everyone else cash checks and live the dream while your account sits at $0 is a different kind of mental toll. To be overlooked, broke, and stuck in an endless application loop takes a strength most people couldn't handle. I'm 21. I'm angry, I'm depressed, and I'm definitely unemployed. Most days, I'm close to giving up if ykyk-but I haven't yet. And don't tell me to "have faith" or "be grateful." Those are just things people say when they aren't the ones playing life on Hard Mode. This is the raw truth. If you're feeling this too, you aren't alone

These people in the comments who are calling people lazy for not taking certain jobs are so out of touch. Some jobs that’s over an hour away would make all your pay go towards gas. Most factories require certain experience for you to even start there. That’s the same for really any full time jobs (like receptionist and sales person) nowadays. Majority of fast food isn’t full time, unless you’re a manager (which you’d need experience for), but even then you can’t get into most fast food workplaces now if you have never been in a food establishment because you need experience. That goes with serving and hosting as well. Entry level jobs are asking for so much experience nowadays, it’s insane. It’s also crazy how the people with jobs don’t realize how shit this market is. Please don’t listen to people who say you don’t want it enough. I hope you find something good for yourself dude. 👍
