the VAs that striked wanted Hoyo to sign the Union agreement which basically would made it impossible to hire independent voice actors, which is ironic because an independent VA was striking for this too, which made them fire him lmao

to be fair a big portion of the vas were confused by misinformation fed by other toxic vas and got harassed when they wanted to voice eg. venti en va but yes there were some that absolutely abused the situation, they were trying to push hoyo into signing some bs and harassing other vas who didn't want to protest then pushed the dumbest narrative of the voices being fed into ai (which genshin as a studio wasn't even on the list) mujin on yt made a really good cover of the situation
