Tiger push-ups look intimidating — elbows tucked back, body lowering dangerously close to the ground, then pressing back up with control. It looks like something only a trained fighter could pull off.
For calisthenics athletes, though, it's straightforward.
The move is essentially a close-grip push-up with a deeper range of motion — and that's ground calisthenics athletes have already covered. Tricep strength from dips, shoulder stability from pike work, and wrist conditioning from floor movements all feed directly into it.
The "scary" part — that low hover near the ground — is just controlled tricep strength. Nothing foreign, nothing new. Just familiar strength applied through a wider range.
Looks hard. Feels earned. That's the calisthenics difference.
