Kali is meant to be a full pentesting and hacking toolkit, not a lightweight distro. it is meant to contain everything you need organized and setup there so when you need it you have it already. alpine and Gentoo are ultra lightweight distros.

kali isnt bloat for people using it the right way. it has many pentesting tools, cant compare it tbh. Your first upgrade was ubuntu, literally absolute bloat
