@metrouk: Thousands of students in Edinburgh will be forced to lock away their phones during the school day under a new city-wide ban starting after the summer holidays. From August, secondary school pupils will be required to place their devices in magnetically sealed pouches from the start of the school day until the final bell, including during lunch and break times. Primary school pupils will have phones stored in lockers throughout the day. These restrictions will include smartwatches too, however exemptions will be available for kids who need access to devices for health or essential reasons.
