I told them I don’t remember the bill in question and asked them to send me said bill. They asked for my address, I asked how I owed them money if they don’t even have such basic information as my address. I haven’t heard a thing from them. (Medical bill)

I was a mortgage loan officer years ago and worked with collection agencies all the time to help get things removed off people's credit reports to help them refinance or buy a house.And I learned a lot. Technically, you don't owe a dime to a collection agency. Because your original agreement was not with them. Just because they bought the debt from the original creditor does not mean you owe them.

Can you talk about medical debt? I had emailed them saying they have a violation for them to have any of my medical information and they proceeded to email me a document that had all of my medical information, including diagnosis on it.

Good advice is to verify the debt. Bad advice is assuming they can't. Modern debt buyers frequently have years of account records, statements, and ownership documentation. The question isn't whether they can prove it it's whether what they're providing is accurate and legally sufficient.

I had a torrid credit card on which I owed money and I set up 3 payment plans because magically they either didn’t charge the last payment or they kept charging me after. And I’d find out later on that I owed 200ish dollars again. Argued I paid it with a payment plan and kept being told they saw that each time on their end with no explanation but that I owed money

Its true. Most of the time they don’t actually have all the records needed or chain of ownership so the debt is voided
