I wish I could get a shingles vaccine now - I'm in my 40s and have had shingles 3 times. Getting it now (which I couldn't get anyone to do anyway) means it'll wear off before I'm a senior. We need to be able to get boosters!

How does getting the shingles vaccine compare to people who take prophylactic acyclovir? Also, the shingles vaccine in 2013 was a different vaccine than the current one, so would that change things?
