I got divorced many years ago, and I didn't jump into bed with someone during the separation. Once it was finalized through the court it hit me hard cause I didn't want it to end up like it did. It took still another good couple of months before I felt its ok.

Divorce Matters :
There is a quiet confidence that comes from choosing growth instead of staying attached to what no longer serves you. Moving forward is not about rushing the process. It is about trusting that better chapters can still be written.

I'm at this point right now, 1 month post separation and I can't phantom the fact I'm just a single dad now. Something I never wanted to be and now I envy all the happy families I see around

One of my friends went through a divorce a couple of years ago. He moped around for about a year and even got sad when we were out riding motorcycles or camping. One day he realized, as he was talking it out by a campfire with me and the boys, that he had been married and happy and all the happiness of having children because he went looking for it. He was lonely when he was single but his goal was a wife and kids. So he resolved to focus on his new goals again and accept he was always going to grieve that loss. But he wouldn’t let that loss and grief be his focus anymore. Every day became scintillating for him after that because he was maybe going to meet someone new that would be his forever wife. I think about that every time I go through something difficult now. Grief is difficult, but you can dilute it with happiness and excitement for today.

Life has a funny way of putting us exactly where we’re supposed to be, even when it doesn’t feel like it at the time. What feels broken today often becomes the foundation for something better tomorrow. Keep believing. The best chapters are rarely the ones we planned.

Hi, single mom of 2 young ones here. Went through a pretty hard divorce postpartum. It does slowly get easier. I use to go to bed every night and cry about being divorced and then one day I realized “hey I haven’t cried in a min.” You get better and stronger. Do the inner work. Lean on god (or whatever you believe in). I’m almost 2 years out from our separation and I’m a whole new person now with a different mindset. Now, I’m more powerful - spiritually and mentally. I still get sad sometimes about it but that’s when I realize everything does happen for a reason and eventually I’m going to meet an incredible partner who’s going to make me say “I’m so glad I went through all that bs because I never realized how poorly I was being treated.” Sending you so much love and healing energy. ❤️

The grief is totally normal. A version of your life is past tense, and it hurts like hell. That said, don’t believe one lie from the evil one about who you are. Believe that the good work God started in you will be completed. This winter will turn to spring again. Sending hugs, friend. 🙏🏻❤️

The dissociation is real. You’re so in tune with what you don’t have anymore that you notice all of it… but you’re also living outside of yourself and the world around you. Like externally and internally hyper aware.

Coming up on 2 years seperated. 1 year officially divorced. My ex husband had an affair that I just found out about. I still wake up and have zero idea how this is my life. I’m hoping by year 5 if I’m being realistic.

Some advice: make your child the main focus. Divorce is traumatic for everyone involved but even more so for any children involved. Don’t argue with your ex in front of your child. Don’t say anything bad about your ex in front of your child. I’m not saying you’re doing that. I’m just sayin. Good luck and keep your head up 🫶🏼

I feel like after all the "firsts" that feeling settled for me. So year 2 was much better for me. On year 4 now. You will one day not feel this feeling. Keep on going. It will get better 💖

A year in! I was married 20 years. It happens less and less. I’ve flipped my mind to saying I’m ok I’ll be ok! I think living in Utah it’s so much harder because of our culture. Married couple’s everywhere couples married for years! I’ve learned that however my life turns out it’s going to be so much better than what it was! I’m so much happier my girls are so much happier! I’m not going to say I’m a 💯 better but it’s definitely easier! You got this momma!🙏🥰

I’m about 7 months divorced and a little over a year since separated. Definitely doing new things has helped. Trying restaurants/hobbies/etc. Basically making memories for who you are now. Oh and therapy. While those past pangs pop up from time to time, I’m in a much better place now than I was a year ago. One day at a time, you got this. 💪

Yes. I wake up every day and instantly think “I don’t want to be divorced” separated after Christmas and he quickly was in a new relationship with the very person I predicted..after 14 years of marriage. I know life will be better one day, but yeah.. right now it feels like life could never feel right or whole again.
