I always say that asking the question of “how much screentime is okay for a baby/toddler” is not an appropriate question and something we need to ponder. We know it’s bad in countless ways, so we should just avoid it. Do we tell teenagers 1 cigarette is okay but 20 is not? No, we avoid the things we know cause harm.

my son gets screen time after nap most days because honestly if we try and do ANYTHING within 20 minutes of waking up from a nap he loses his mind lol. so a short 15-20 minutes with a snack and then we go play with toys or go outside depending on the weather

100% agree .. however I do see it as a combination of both and a good opportunity for adults to reconsider the alternatives eg - 30 mins of screen time in the car might be reasonable (particularly if it’s a long drive) but what are the alternatives, what is that screen time replacing? (eg - music, eye spy games, talking and boredom!)

My daughter is allowed to play sudoku on my phone if I take her clothes shopping 😅 it replaces her staring at me while I get changed in florescent lighting
